Biography of Meera k
Meera K from Kerala has completed her B.tech in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College Thrissur and got a job in Bangalore through campus selection. Becoming an IAS was her childhood dream so she decided not to continue her job and started preparing for UPSC. In her first attempt she could not even clear the Pre-exam but it didn’t break her confidence. She continued her preparation and decided to give the exam again. However, she did not clear the exam on the second and third attempts also. In her fourth attempt she again recollected all the knowledge and appeared in the exam again and this time she topped the exam with RANK 6 and made her parents proud.
In her first attempt, she failed the main examination. In the second, Meera lost in the interview by 12 marks. In the third attempt, she failed in the preliminary exam by just one mark. When the interview procedure got delayed due to COVID-19, Meera took it as an opportunity and prepared for the interview effectively. Her father K. Ramdas owns a construction company and her mother K. Radhika works as a teacher at Mundathikkode’s NSS High School. Her sister Vrinda works at Goldman Sachs. Meera k gives credit for success to her family. Meera K says, it was a dream of my mother and it’s a delightful moment for me also. Sociology is the optional subject of Meera K in the exam. Meera K learned from her failure and with her focused study and hard work, she achieved her goal of becoming an IAS officer.

IAS Preparation Strategy of Meera K
Meera K has shared her preparation strategy and advised how she prepares for the exam. Meera said continued failure made her stronger. She is never afraid of failures. Her family support and positive atmosphere give strength to her. A good study plan, proper time management, and hard work always help to get success.
- Understand the syllabus first. Without understanding the syllabus and pattern of exam students cannot prepare well.
- According to Meera, first you should focus on the Prelims syllabus, then you will get time for revision also. There should be a balance between coverage of syllabus and revision time.
- Optional subjects are the most important part of Mains preparation. Optional subject reflects your interest and comfort with the subject. so , prepare it fully by making notes.
- Mock tests are also a very important part of the preparation. Mock tests help students to prepare for exams. Mock tests provide exam-like experience and prepare students to practice for answer writing as well.
- For current affairs preparation, always read the newspaper. Make a habit of reading the newspaper on a daily basis. You can take help from NCERT books. It will strengthen your base.
- Make a note of your preparation. It will be easy for you to revise with the help of your notes. Making and revising notes will definitely give success.
- Previous year papers help a lot in exams. Always try to solve previous year papers.
Meera K is an inspiration for all the students who lose hope after failing. Meera got success in her fourth attempt and she was never afraid of her failures. Always learn from your failure. There will definitely be failures, but if you learn from your failures and move forward, then anyone can be successful.
